Sony makes 20$ for each Iphone sold

By now, you should have known that the iPhone 6 is one of the best-selling smartphones in history, if not the the highest. Among suppliers who make money each time an Apple product is sold is Sony. The Japanese OEM is responsible for the 8-megapixel camera on the Apple iPhone 6.

A report by Wall Street Journal revealed that the electronics company charges Apple as much as $20 for each camera module on the iPhone 6. But hey, before you go bonkers over the massive amount of money made ($20 times, say 30 million iPhone 6 is equals to $600 million), you should put the actual cost of producing these components in mind. Also note that OEMS don’t put large profit margins on their products when supplying stuff like this.
So, assuming Sony makes 20 % profit on each camera module sold, 30 million iPhones will give them $120 million which is pretty much still a massive earning to arrive at. This could be more…in fact it’s way more. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus received over 20 million pre-orders within one week and analysts suggest Apple might have sold over 60 million iPhones between January and March 2015 so use your wildest imagination: Whether Apple or Sony, these guys are killing it.
